Keyboard Technique | Hand Independence

Here’s me as a keyboard learner trying to find a way to build hand independence. I wrote this jazz/funk chord progression to give me a syncopated bass-line to try to play against. Took a while to get the left and right hands working independently, as the bass-line being played on the left sometimes shifts onto the off-beat. This is definitely one for the old muscle memory.

The piece is in the key of G minor, which I’m having a lot of joy with at the moment. The piano used was one of the Scarbee Vintage Keys patches from Native Instruments Kontakt. Has a bit of a Doors vibe…
